| To enable us to care for trees we must first understand them. The aim of this section is to provide you with some basic ‘science’ with regards to their growth and structure which is fundamental to tree health. |

| I suggest that you work you way from the top of the tree to the bottom because that is how I have structured the text. It is imperative to remember that all parts of a tree rely on each other and can therefore only exist on this basis. |
